The Gentoo Overlays Project is an effort to provide a central repository for overlays. This HOWTO guides you through the install of layman on Gentoo. I don't source layman's config in my make.conf file. I have configured layman to make the changes in my make.conf file instead, then I only have one file where I can see which overlays I use :) In my layman.cfg I have typed in my own layman list. overlays : http://hamed.dk/scripts/layman.php Now this was just setting up layman, here I'm reminding you something from the output after emerging laymanlayman --help gives you all the relevant information and is pretty condensed: I'd add to this brief list, that "layman -l" lists the already locally added overlays, which are ready to use by portage (emerge...)* You are now ready to add overlays into your system. * * layman -L * * will display a list of available overlays. * * Use the -k switch to also list overlays that are * considered less secure. * * Select an overlay and add it using * * layman -a overlay-name Overlay: http://hamed.dk/scripts/layman.php Comments (0)
